Here are the main characters you’ll meet in Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective:

• Sissel (シセル, Shiseru): The protagonist. amnesia after being murdered. As a ghost, he gains supernatural abilities and must use them to solve the mystery of his own death while protecting others.

• Lynne (リンネ, Rinne): A young woman who becomes Sissel’s reason to solve the puzzles of the game. She is targeted for assassination and Sissel must use his abilities to keep her safe.

• Ray (レイン, Rein): A spectral entity who guides Sissel and grants him his ghostly powers. Ray’s motives are shrouded in mystery for much of the game.

• Yomiel (ヨミエル, Yomieru): The main antagonist of the story. Yomiel is a powerful entity who controls the flow of time and seeks to use Sissel for his own purposes.

• Jowd (ジョーディー, Jōdī): A ghost who appears in later parts of the game and offers cryptic hints to Sissel.

Many of the names for people and places in Ghost Trick are based on actual Japanese words, or have other meanings. Lynne – リンネ rinne – Samsara, the cycle of death and rebirth. Missile – ミサイル misairu – Named after Shu Takumi’s pomeranian. Cabanela – カバネラ kabanera – Kabane, corpse.

Is Sissel immortal in Ghost Trick?

While Jowd claims to be responsible for his death back then, he was actually hit by a meteor fragment from the Temsik meteorite, making him effectively immortal.
