  • This is the best retro game compilations I've ever played. Shining Force 1+2, Phantasy Star 1-4, and all of the Streets of Rage and Golden Axe games are worth the price alone.

  • This collection is a noteworthy effort but calling it "Ultimate Gen Collection" was a terrible idea. It gives the false impression that everything that you should play on the Genesis is here, which due to the utter lack of some of the very best games on the system that are mostly 3rd party, this is completely not true.
These omissions imo contribute to why this awesome console is so underappreciated.
No Gunstar Heroes, Alien Soldier, Revenge of Shinobi, Thunder Force series, Musha, Super Hang-On, Contra Hard Corps, Castlevania Bloodlines, Rocket Knight Adventures, Adv of Batman&Robin, Monster World IV, or Alisia Dragoon and plenty of others.
It's like the Snes classic w/o Super Metroid, or Mega Man X, that'd be nuts right?
The collection could be a lot worse though.

  • Imagine a collection for Sony games that came out in 2000-2010 for the PS4.

  • It's funny how this is the only one to contain sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles. Even the mini megadrive system doesn't have those

  • I guess adding mega drive artwork instead of genesis would have meant less games too 😒

  • Nice review.
If this collection had Toy Story, Shadow Dancer, Wonderboy, Virtua Racing and VF2 (not sure about the last one), it would have been a masterpiece

  • Sega is so Fucking lazy your gonna tell me they couldn't add the lock on feature for Sonic and knuckles 1,2 & 3 on PS3??? That's bullshit. If rockstar can fit GTA V on 1 disc and Kojima can fit MGS4 on 1 disc there's no excuse why they can't fit Sega games from the Fucking 80's on a disc. Especially when the GameCube version of sonic Mega collection can. Now I have to buy a GameCube just to play as knuckles for the 1st threw games unbelievable.
