Power Up Your Phone: The Best Emulators for Android in 2023 🙂
Looking to relive your childhood gaming glory days or dive into classic consoles you never got to experience? Emulators for Android bring the magic of retro gaming to your pocket. But with so many options, choosing the right one can be daunting. Fear not, fellow gamer! This post explores some of the best emulators for Android, categorized by the console they emulate.
Retro Powerhouses:
- RetroArch: This multi-console emulator is a powerhouse, supporting systems like NES, SNES, Genesis, and even arcade classics. RetroArch offers extensive customization options, making it a favorite among tinkerers.
- Lemuroid: This user-friendly emulator is another great all-in-one option. It offers smooth gameplay for many retro consoles and integrates seamlessly with RetroArch cores for even more options.
Console Classics:
- DuckStation (PS1): Offering high compatibility, accurate sound, and even graphical enhancements, DuckStation lets you play your favorite PS1 games on the go. Keep in mind, it requires a BIOS file to function.
- Dolphin (GameCube/Wii): This versatile emulator tackles both the GameCube and Wii, though Wii games with heavy motion controls might be trickier. For a smooth experience, a powerful phone is recommended.
- My Boy! (GameBoy Advance): This emulator focuses on delivering a fantastic GameBoy Advance experience. It boasts great compatibility, save states, and a user-friendly interface.
- PPSSPP (PSP): Enjoy PlayStation Portable (PSP) titles on your Android device with PPSSPP. This emulator offers high compatibility, upscaling options, and butter-smooth 60fps gameplay on high-end phones.
Beyond the Classics:
- Citra (3DS): This emulator allows you to play Nintendo 3DS games on your Android device. While still under development, Citra offers playable experiences for many 3DS titles.
Remember: Downloading ROMs (game files) can be a legal grey area. Ensure you only download ROMs for games you legitimately own.
Happy Gaming!
This is just a starting point, and many other great emulators exist for various consoles. With a little research, you can find the perfect emulator to revisit your favorite games or discover hidden gems from the past.

Emulators on Android keep getting better and better!
Edit: I didn't mention Windows Emulation, but Exagear is available as well: https://youtu.be/wWuITjBcH4M
On android RetroArch has a regular and RetroArch Plus. It's more confusing than ever.
Is there currently any emulator for xbox games on android ?
Ppsspp is amazing. The majority of games I run through it have little to no lag, and it works perfectly with my Ipega Bluetooth controller. Also, Snes9x EX+ is pretty solid.
Still 4.99$
Extremely uneducated video. Dude clearly has never played Android emulators with all of the emulators he's recommending.
OMG , the AetherSX2 is LEGIT!!! (PS2 emulator). I beat Dragon Quest 8 and Final Fantasy X on my phone.. insane.

For emulation front ends I'm surprised you didn't mention Daijisho.
I've been using it ever since it launched and in my opinion it's the best option for android front ends right now plus it's completely free
Is there a good Atari Jaguar or ZXSpectrum emulator for android?
Why doesn't my android box not find any ROMs??
What do you mean by the "accuracy" of the emulator? 🤔
M64 is kick ass with my backbone can't seem to find a good one for NES amd SNES
So for the standalone emulators, for any one of them are you able to amp the quality or Fps?

I use lemuroid and I really like it but it keeps deleting my progress …anyone know how to fix that ?
Why can i only add games with low storlage disc???
In my own experience Flycast is way better than Redream.
Is emulation actually complicated for some people? It seemed really straight forward to me
I want to know the best one in the world , to play ps2 game with redmi note 9 4g.
Is there any way to access an extended options menu or at least a configuration file in Lemuroid? It looks like it's using bilinear filters in Final Burn and MAME, and that drives me bananas. Also, you can't shut off the copyright notice at the start of arcade games, and who wants to see that?!
Why do ppl keep skipping x box i wanna play Halo😅
I have an n64 controller. Can anyone suggest which emulator is best for android with the option to map buttons??
TLDW is there one that can run both GBA and NDS? Also, would these use the same ROMs that emulators for PC use? I've used no$gba and Desmume on PC and have .sav files.
OK I checked DraStic, it's still for pay
