Playing it again recently with the murder dlc and I’m using a max skilled companion build, and this game has A LOT of great extra dialogue that rewards specific and non spicier of builds. I fell like this game took the core concept of RPG’s and did their skill system so well. The game lacked in other spots which is why I can’t wait for the sequel, but this game was a true show of amazing rpg mechanics that aren’t overly complicated and it’s sad to see no games come after it with its same concept.

Perfectly said & my buddy said the same thing
It’s a AA game, not a AAA game
The Outer Worlds is a great AA game
Meh to okay AAA game
I just bought thr bundle for $35 plus tax
What!? Robot was so funny, all followers in this game were freakin awesome, so much personality, for AA game this is at least for me much better game (as for RPG and characters) than for example CP. There are also story paths that got locked completely if not having enough for example speech or other skills to pass the check.
Hope for Outer Worlds 2 they add more enemy, weapon and gear variety. Also more interesting perks and make consumables useful.
i loved this game so much. I hope in the next game they add more weapons and armor. I felt like this game was lacking in variety concerning armor and weapons. I would use the same stuff for a large portion of the game
Whatever obsidian did with The Outer worlds, keep doing it. This is my top 5 favorite games now.
🎵🎶 ( IT'S NOT THE BEST CHOICE )🎶🎵
I honestly love this game, it's not got as much depth as other titles from Obsidian but it's got the groundwork to be a series of excellent games.
Also the comedy in this game is so much fun.
YOOOO😭😭😭I’ve almost came close to 100% the game and I’ve never noticed that you couldn’t throw grenades
Vicar max ??
I loved the add ons. Murder on Eridanos was super fun being the PI. LMAO I correctly figured out who was the villain but it was more on my own gut feeling than the clues I was finding 😛
I really enjoyed this game. It has more charm and personality than 90% of the stuff released these days.
Gorgon did a good job of expanding on what was there and fits into the main quest well.
Eridanos felt tacked on and actually messed up the pacing a bit imo. I think it would’ve worked better as a post main quest adventure or played with a different character if they reworded a couple things.
I think the humour didn’t help this game at all. It was fun at first but every character felt the same due to all of them displaying the same type of humour. Ultimately I just didn’t care about anything because I was constantly reminded that I am playing a game and interacting with comedy performers instead of people.
I'm glad I saved this game for so long
I got it when it came out but knew I was gonna be waiting for a while to purchase dlc to make the game better so I just experienced character building and the tutorial then just never played it lol
Yeah, I love Obsidian and by all means I do believe that they would be the better developers for the Fallout franchise if they have it… but that marketing stunt really felt bitter.
Game is really good. I was one from he crowd that despised this game for some reason. I only played 5 hours years ago and never touched it. But lately i bought this game again with all DLCs and currently I have the blast with it. Im waiting for Spacer Choice Edition by the way.
Type of game you really could play again and again 🙂
Gotta respect it. Just have to.
Meanwhile IGN reviews games after a journalist with a room temp IQ plays them for less than 6 hours.
I do like having two companions at a time
Nice review. I'm a big fan of the game but your comments are fair. I would have added that your companions have their own conversations so which two you bring along with you on which missions can give you loads of different dialog to listen to.
Playing without the survival mechanics make the game too easy, and less about your story. With those survival features you feel alive……
I want more games with it….
I dont really recomend playing on hard, the game is not that hard, but, the enemies become bullet sponges.
Totally understand the "floaty" criticism of the combat because I felt the same exact way. Compare the combat of Outer Worlds to the combat of Darktide, another FPS with melee elements, and the difference is night and day. (Obviously there's a lot to criticize about Darktide too, but the combat is on point.)
It’s a cross between a BioWare and Bethesda rpg. To be exact it’s a cross between fallout and mass effect
Yeah, marketing it as a Fallout game was not a good move and still it was. The main reason I heard about it was New Vegas. Not the makers of Fallout, the makers of New Vegas. I loved that game and to be honest The Outer Worlds, brings a bit of that NV feeling to it. Don't know what it is, it just got a lot of love and humor. Only played a couple of hours and I think I am going to enjoy playing it as I bought it on sale on steam.
Getting the game for $40 with all the DLCs, as you can today, makes it very worth it.
I'm playing this game now and the only thing I keep thinking about is how it feels like fallout in space. I'm not sure why you say it is a double A game, but to each there own. I can only guess that it doesn't have graphics that you think it should have. Recently the Starefield show case was out and I'm looking forward to playing it. But the graphics certainly while good, are still not the next generation photo realistic that people bare hoping to see. Just saying.
Very good review, thanks! The title has been confirmed to be in July's Humble Bundle, so will definitely be giving it a try.
This game does not get the love it deserves.
I earned 100% Achievements as well, nice job.
Honestly the game was very fun people didnt listen when obsidian said they dont have aaa budgets anymore unless the game does well in wich they will make an expanded sequal
this game was on my radar before it came out and when it did it got a lot of meh reviews and the cost turned me off but as of the time of this comment its on sale for 20 bucks, i think i might pick it up. great review by the way
now it's free on epic store foe 24hr.
