About 45½ Hours…
The length of the Tokyo Xanadu eX+ game can vary depending on several factors, including your playstyle, how thoroughly you explore the game world, and whether you focus solely on the main story or also engage in side quests and optional content.
On average, completing the main story of Tokyo Xanadu eX+ might take around 30 to 40 hours. If you decide to fully explore the game, complete side quests, and engage in various optional activities, the playtime could extend to 50 hours or more.
Keep in mind that individual playtimes may vary, and the duration of the game can be influenced by your familiarity with action RPGs, your pacing, and how much time you invest in leveling up and improving your character’s abilities.
Can you romance in Tokyo Xanadu?
In Tokyo Xanadu, the romantic subplot is a major part of the game’s narrative and character development. The player character, Kou Tokisaka, can choose to romance one of four female characters: Asuka, Sora, Rion, or Mitsuki. Each romance is unique and has its own challenges and obstacles that the player must overcome.
Yes, Tokyo Xanadu does feature romance elements. Throughout the game, you’ll have the opportunity to build relationships and deepen bonds with various characters, including potential romantic interests. These interactions are often a part of the character development and social simulation aspects of the game.
While Tokyo Xanadu includes romantic themes and interactions, it’s important to note that the depth and mechanics of the romance system might not be as central or elaborate as in some other games that are primarily focused on romantic relationships. The emphasis in Tokyo Xanadu is more on the action RPG gameplay, exploration, and character-driven storytelling.
The extent of romance and the outcomes of these relationships may also vary depending on the choices you make throughout the game. It’s a feature that adds another layer of depth to the overall experience, but it may not be the main focus of the gameplay.

Great review! Subscribed!
thank you! Persona 5 was also my favorite RPG of 2017. I saw this game on sale this week but I was concerned because I hadn't played any of Falcom's recent offerings. I found this video super helpful!
To get this or pay 10 more for Ys VIII?
Excellent review and like you my main issue with the game was how poor the translation became by the second half (i beat the vita and got to ch6 on the ps4, got sidetracked at the moment with other games though), as someone who went to college for an English major since i wanted to get into the book publishing field (unfortunately didn't work out yet lol, really hard just to get into the entry level jobs) i honestly found the second half of the game to be insulting when it came to some of the brain dead grammatical/spelling/contextual mistakes. It hurts even more since i can tell the story Falcom made was excellent…however Aksys has shown they've become inept when it comes to translating games (like many of their recent games they've published, I'd say since BB Central Fiction they've been going downhill). Their (Aksys, not Falcom) recent work has honestly put them on my blacklist and unless it's a game made by another publisher (like Falcom) i really want i've no intention of buying anything from them again unless they get their act together (So Aksys if by some miracle you see this, get your act together, you used to be decent now you're at the bottom. And Falcom, please don't give them any of your games again unless they start making quality translations again).
Going back to Tokyo Xanadu, it was actually tied with YS 8 as my favorite game of 2017.
Thanks so this game will fill the void persona 5 left in my heart??
This review is very well informed, I actually like it alot more than Tarks Gauntlet's review for one thing; simply because it's more objective.
Loved your review and subbed. Thinking of getting this and informed me well.
A very nice review!!! Your Channel Deserve more views =)
Complete Persona rip off. Persona 5 is edgy, stylish, and hip. Tokyo Xanadu is like a generic anime. The action feels mechanical, and the graphics are bland. C-
Happened on my bday…. Well shit lol
Fun fact lacrimossa is latin for weeping
@11:09 Tell me I'm not the only one that thought that a group of anime girls were about to sing "All My Life" by K-Ci & JoJo.
aay thanks was wondering if to buy this and watched a few other reviews but this one definitely convinced me to buy it
Amazing Review bruh 😉 !
Awesome review. Subbed to your channel. Also the game is $12 (till 24/09/19) on US PSN
I'd say that the combat is pretty much a 3D version of Ys Origins', with a variation of Ys 7/Celceta/8's party system, and a variation of Ys: Memories of Celceta's weapon modding system by way of an interpretation of their own Legend of Heroes series' orbment system.
Great review
Thanks for the review, the game is now on sale in the PSN store and I will be downloading it soon.

Thank you so much for this review, encouraged me to buy the game and fill the jrpg void in my heart. Subbed
Have they patched the localization problems yet?
New subscriber here.
93/100 is way too generous. Persona 5 is 10/10 and a super high quality gem. Tokyo Xanadu is more like 73/100.
It went from $60 to $12 for the sale right now, and seeing as people are mentioning this to be as similar as Persona, I’m defo buying it this 👍🏼
I'm sure I'm not the only one watching this cause it's on sale on PSN right now for $12 haha
Tokyo Xanadu is definitely a great game but Persona is on a whole new level.
I'm here now because this game is on sale for less then 15$ I see it looks exactly like trails of cold steel except its action rpg instead of turn based. Sadly, no matter how much I try. When it comes to games like this and Persona when there are school/free time moments I never end up liking these games, don't know why. I'm just more into final fantasy type rpgs where you find different towns and explore more rather then always come back to the same hub world.
This game really is like cold steel (besides the obvious towa and princess looking Alisa)
Watching your review i came across it on Amazon:) thank you 🙂
I always knew this game as "Budget Persona". (I like it though, don't get me wrong.)
As an action JRPG addict who could never get into turn-based stuff, this should be perfect to play in the long wait for YS 10!
Is this game worth $45 canadian for a physical copy?
Even after this positive review I'm still on the fence getting this.
Can't believe you talked that long and DIDNT cover combat. You make a lot of comparisons to persona 5 but then didn't back them up except for the side character relationship missions. Combat looks to be hack and slash but since you didn't mention it I'm not sure but it looks NOTHING like persona.
You also make too many comparisons to cold steel for anyone that has never played it.
